From a modest office at 456 Hunter Street in 1959, A J W Miles and Son has been a beacon of personalised accounting and advisory services in Newcastle. Founded by Andrew James Wentworth Miles, affectionately known as Jim, our firm embarked on a mission to serve the accounting needs of small to medium-sized family-owned businesses with a dedication that only a family-run firm could offer.
1963
As the firm blossomed, so did our family’s involvement. In 1963, Jim’s son, Geoff, joined the firm, marking the beginning of a new era as A J W Miles and Son. With each move to accommodate our growth, from King Street in 1975 to Wolfe Street in the 1980s, and finally to our current home in 2002, our commitment to our clients and community deepened.
1995
Adrian Miles, Geoff’s son and Jim’s grandson, joined the firm, embodying the same passion for accounting and client service that started it all. Today, Adrian leads A J W Miles and Son with a forward-looking vision that still cherishes the values of its past.
